Well here goes !!! We are off and running as they say with a blog of our lives. We know that most of the events have already occurred this summer which is why we have posted several slide shows of our trips and the sights as well. Now, if we can actually keep on this thing and our families follow it, well, that would be amazing as well. This is a work in process to say the least as both Mikaela and myself are new at this whole blogging thing...oh, and we also have full time jobs so bare with us...This should be a fun little project though and hopefully it will bring us closer to all of you as well. Enjoy!

The NuWest team got to go on a tour of the Wizard boat from the Deadliest Catch and Steve was nice enough to let Casey come too :) We went down to the Ballard docks and met Captain Keith and one of his crew members.

We got to see the pods where they catch the crab and all of the equipment on the deck. Then we went inside and saw their rooms ... the living spaces are tiny and so is the kitchen. All the furniture and everything has to be bolted down so it doesn't fall over during a storm.

Then Captain Keith took us up to sit in the captain's chair. We got to see his good luck charms and Sarah and Brad had a survival suit race! Apparently you need to be able to get them on in under a minute in an emergency.

Then Steve took all of us and Captain Keith out to happy hour at a British Pub. It was a great time and Captain Keith signed pictures for all of us. Mine said "The Sweetest Catch".
